German family-owned maker of colour masterbatches, additive masterbatches, colour powders (dust-bound pigment preparations) and compounds for thermoplastics. Founded in 1928 by Heinrich Treffert Sr. as an importer and exporter of raw materials for the rubber, paint and chemical industries, later developed into a masterbatch producer; now run by the third generation. Plants in Bingen am Rhein (Germany) and Sainte-Marie-aux-Chênes, Lorraine (France, Treffert S.A.S., since 1992); 133 employees and more than 20 extrusion lines. Colour masterbatches are matched to customer colour targets on the same polymer base the processor uses, with up to 60% colorant (organic dyes, organic and inorganic pigments). Also laser welding and laser marking, light blocker and diffuser, bioplastic and high-performance polymer solutions; markets include automotive, medical technology, sensor and lighting technology.
