US polymer materials company, founded in 1924 and headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with ten locations in North America, three in Europe (Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands) and two in Asia (China, Singapore). Besides vinyl, thermoplastic elastomer and engineering plastic compounds, its Teknor Color business makes standard and custom color masterbatches (pigments and additives pre-dispersed in a carrier resin, optionally with flame retardant or UV additives), dry colorants (free-flowing pigment blends for rotational moulding and powder processing in PE, PP, nylon, PC, PVC, XLPE and recycled resins), Super Concentrates high-loading colour beads (Color Crystals, Color Spheres, Ultracolor), special-effect concentrates (MetaLustre metallics, flip-flop/pearlescent, fluorescent and transparent colours), pre-coloured compounds and colour concentrates for PLA bioresins.
