German producer of functional fillers based on Neuburg Siliceous Earth, a natural blend of corpuscular Neuburg silica and lamellar kaolinite that the company says it is the only one to extract and process, from open-pit deposits near Neuburg (Donau), Bavaria. Product lines: Sillitin (natural, untreated grades V 85, V 88, N 75, N 85, N 87, Z 86, Z 89 and P 87, D50 1.5–5.0 µm, cream, white or yellow shades), Puriss (finer grades), Aktisil (surface-functionalised), Silfit Z 91 (thermally treated Sillitin Z 86), Aktifit (activated Silfit Z 91), Gloxil light (density reduction with silanisation), Gloxil matt (silica-gel matting agent) and Gloxil bright (calcined kaolin). For paints and varnishes the company offers them for dispersibility, rheology, matting or gloss retention, hiding power, adhesion, scratch and abrasion resistance, and as partial replacement of matting agents, anticorrosive pigments and titanium dioxide (spacer/extender effect).
