Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne Police S.A. (TYTANPOL)

Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne „Police” S.A. · Police · Poland

About

Polish chemical company (ul. Kuźnicka 1, Police, a few kilometres north-west of Szczecin at the mouth of the Oder, with its own sea and barge port), part of Grupa Azoty, and Poland's only titanium dioxide producer. It makes TYTANPOL titanium dioxide pigments by the sulphate process in a plant built under a Kronos Titan technology contract and started in 1977 (anatase first, rutile from 1978), modernised to about 40,000 tonnes a year. Regular rutile grades: R-001, R-003 and R-210 for general use, and specialty grades R-002 (high-gloss paints), R-211, RS (plastics and pigment concentrates, low moisture), R-310 (decorative paper laminates) and the untreated RD-5 (sealants, road marking, cement products). Grades serve water- and solvent-borne decorative and industrial paints, coil, powder and marine coatings, plastics (PVC, polyolefins, polyesters), paper, rubber, sealants and construction products; several are suitable for food-contact products and NSF-listed for potable-water pipes. Application laboratory and technical service for customers.
