Esmalglass-Itaca Group

Spanish ceramic materials group headquartered at Ctra. CV-20 Km 2.3, Vila-real (Castellón). Esmalglass was set up there in 1978 to produce frits, glazes and ceramic colours; Itaca (Innovaciones Técnicas Aplicadas a Cerámicas Avanzadas, Pobla Tornesa, Castellón) started making ceramic colours in 1989, and the two joined in 1999. Its ceramic pigment range covers glaze stains (CE series) for colouring tile glazes, body stains (CP series) for porcelain stoneware bodies, added in ball mills or to the slip before spray drying, and dry colouring stains (CPD series) for colouring spray-dried powder just before pressing. It also makes frits, glazes, ceramic additives, screen-printing pastes and digital inkjet inks. The group has more than 1,300 people and 25 locations in 15 countries, with plants in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Turkey, Russia, China (including Kunshan, Jiangsu and Foshan, Guangdong), India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru and Brazil.
